HOKUDAISAI 2004

The food festival in Hokkaido University occurs every year during the first week of June. As usual, in this year also, Nepali stall was decorated with posters and banners. Moreover, Nepali songs made the environment really enjoyable. Everyday, foreign friends from Bangladesh, India, Mexico, and Russia danced with Nepalese in Nepali songs, a unique experience in HOKUDAISAI. This International Festival scheduled from 2004/6/4(Friday) to 2004/6/6(Sunday). The first two days was from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm and the third day till 2.00 pm.

Hokudai paid serious attention on hygienic aspect during food preparation and selling this year. Therefore, preparatory activities before the cooking (Chopping, cleaning, mixing etc) were done inside the room. For this purpose, Hokudai provided a room at the Agriculture Faculty. Nepali dishes included chicken curry and rice, Momo, Nepali Tea, and Nepali Everest beer. Till last year, HUNSA and HONESS (Hokkaido Nepal Sagarmatha Samaj) used to participate jointly. However, this year, HUNSA organized this Nepali stall exclusively. Like those of previous years, customers liked all four Nepalese food/drink items. Nepalese stall was one of the attractive ones among numerous stalls opened in that festival. The net earning by Nepalese students was more than double than that of the last year.
